Flashback

Almost every time I look in the mirror nowadays ... I think of my mother. I realise that I’m starting to look more and more like her. That feeling was confirmed today BECAUSE when I was flicking through an old photograph album .... df looked over my shoulder and remarked, that’s a nice picture of you. BUT it isn’t me ... it’s my mother when she was young.

Research time ... I just had to find a photograph of me at around the same age as she must have been in the photo ... and what do you know? I DID look like her .. even then!

I must have looked like her my whole life ... and I only realised it now ... now that I’m getting older ... funny that!

Enjoyed your blog. Three of my grandparents died within the last year my family had a quite the time looking through photo albums. You haven't lived until you see your grandmother in a bikini in the '30s and your grandfather in uniform surrounded by Korean women.

Hi, omykiss - Michele sent me this way again this weekend to check you out..

When I was in my 20s my mum enthused about how much I looked like her - now I am [ahem!] older, I admit I am the spitting image of her....

It's scary when I look in the mirror.

Walked into a wedding a couple of years ago and this older gentleman approached me and said "You look just like a girl I went to school with." Turns out it was my mother. I always knew I had her sharp tongue and wicked evil sense of humor. Now I know I got the whole package. Funny how it works isn't it? I just wish I had the part of her that kept her thing and trim her whole life. That part? Never saw it.

Well there are two lovely ladies there!
I often think of my Mum & really miss her, even now! I have started to dream about her a lot.

I am now starting to look frighteningly like my mum, but it has taken me 54 years to do it. How nice of her to have passed on the same pattern of wrinkles...

welcome jen why ... I love looking at old photos .... its like peaking back in time .. fascinating!

Hi cq ... I know! Recently when one of my friends commented to my daughter that she looks like me .. she was horrified! She'll get it ... maybe in another 30 years or so ...

hi gemma ... how excitng to catch up with someone from your mother's school days ... lucky you!

maggie may ... I feel sorry that I didn't learn more from my mother ... especially about some of the details of our family history .. that's lost for good now.

Hi rosie ... and it's not only the wrinkles .. some of my gestures are my mothers too.
